Games for your event:
- Put people in pairs or large groups into teams of 4. Give them paper, sticky tape and stapler. Have them make a hat in 15 min with trimming and all. One of the group then has to parade and speak about what they made and why.
- Have hats at the door which can be hired for $ to raise money.
- Have a variety of hats available (top hat, cap, work hat, bowler etc.) and have people demonstrate how wearing that hat makes them feel. Then wrap a piece of tulle etc. around the hat being worn and have them demonstrate again.
- Have a Hat quiz. Research Hat information (eg Google search) on the net.
- Living near a river????.......Give everyone a large sheet of paper and coloured pencils. Everyone should write down what they keep under their hats and what they would like to not keep under their hat. Then have them fold the paper into paper boats and take them to the water edge, damp them and let them float away....
- Find poems about hats and have a reading. Read them with as much drama and humour as possible!
- ‘’ You can leave your hat on’’…………know that song?? How would you perform to that song???.........
